The Safer Homes Range™ with Care-Assist™ is specifically designed for residents requiring assistance with access or those with restricted mobility. These high-quality, high-performance timber doorsets offer automated assistance for both opening and closing, ensuring a safer and more accessible environment. Suitable for both internal and external applications, the Care-Assist™ feature provides full functional integrity of any living space.
Testing
The Safer Homes Range is backed by an extensive portfolio of GSP-owned primary testing, with over 50 valid test reports alone for the SHR30 range. This robust testing framework provides a wide range of solutions for the built environment, ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance.
Construction
Constructed from 54mm timber with hardwood lippings and a modular hardwood frame system, these doorsets are designed for quick and straightforward installation. With ease of transportation in mind, the inclusion of a hardwood frame with an integral doorstop enhances robustness and therefore minimises the risk of unintentional damage.
Threshold options are tailored to mobility needs and include:
- Hardwood cill
- Aluminium low-profile slimline cill
- Dropdown seal for internal doorsets
The entire doorset is factory-produced with precision using CNC manufacturing. This process includes painting with a 3-coat, environmentally friendly, water-based paint and drying in kilns to ensure durability and a consistent, smooth finish.
Each doorset is tailored to precise survey measurements, with traceability for maintenance and installation provided through the G-Smart™ app.
Advanced Locking and Security Systems
The Safer Homes Range™ with Care-Assist™ features an advanced locking system that is PAS24 and Secured by Design approved. The handle set, available in both lever and knob options, offers automated securing of the door. A wireless fob attached to a key ring, allows for effortless entry and exit. Pressing the fob unlocks the door, disengages the hooks and latch, and activates the powered door opener, which automatically opens the door. For exiting, a manually operated button is placed near the door on the inside. When pressed, this button sends a signal to unlock and open the door, allowing for easy exit without using the fob. This system is particularly useful for individuals who may not have the strength or ability to open the door manually.
The locking system offers an overall TS007 solution, with handle set and cylinder. It is recommended that the same type of europrofile cylinder Is used for replacement purposes. This is required to maintain the certification of the doorset.
Additional Features include:
- Satin chrome letterbox with a streamlined security cowl that protrudes no more than 35mm, optimising entranceway space.
- High-quality glass door viewer in satin chrome finish, with an optional additional viewer.
- Custom-designed satin chrome door knocker
- Matching quality numerals.
- Electromechanical swing door operator in satin chrome, to facilitate automatic opening. Transom fitted to the pull side of the door; CE marked to EN1154.

This service guarantees accuracy and addresses mobility and accessibility needs from the outset, including features to assist with sight impairment including white frames contrasting with the colours of the doors and correct door opening-force settings.
The survey service uses the innovative G-Smart™ technology, facilitating consistent and efficient surveying of door locations, leading to faster installation and a more streamlined process for customers.
In-Built Digital Life-Cycle Management
Each doorset is supplied G-Smart™-ready, designed to provide effective management system for the lifetime of the doorset. The G-Smart code stores the doorset DNA and will assist with various options including survey, installation, ongoing maintenance and project management through fully auditable records. G-Smart® is a managed & designed software app produced specifically for fire doorsets with our in-house team. This enables flexibility and full traceability for our clients with the capability to manage other assets.
