VIP Roundtable

Truly innovative and groundbreaking

The Out Standing Diversity Forum is looking to host a special invite only roundtable to development the understanding and call for specialist LGBTQ+ training within the ASC services.

The OSDF hope to gather leading voices across the sector with lived experience to lead the charge in the way the sector delivers outstanding care for those who live in the rainbow family as well as team members that work within the sector.

This Event will take place at the CARE SHOW BIRMINGHAM as part of the Outstanding Society's Learning Lounge on Wednesday 9th October 2024.

Here are some highlights from the Learning Lounge:

  • Day One, 10:15 AM Opening Session: Join Sanjay, Lara, Debbie Ho (CQC), Hope Lightwater (Lived Experience, Shared Lives Plus), and Rob Hargreaves (Skills for Care) for a discussion on Your People & Your Inspections. Hear insights from the CQC and those who use our services on how embracing diversity can enhance the quality of care.
  • End of Day One, 4:15 PM: Wrap up the day with drinks provided by Howden while we explore emerging risks in the sector.
  • Interactive Engagement: We'll be using Slido throughout the two days. Details will be provided soon, allowing you to ask questions, request topics, and share best practices.
  • Thursday, 10th October – World Mental Health Day: The OS is committed to raising awareness and supporting the sector on this crucial issue. Visit the Learning Lounge to share how your workplace supports mental health or suggest ways you’d like to be supported. All contributions will be shared at the end of the Care Show and followed up post-event. Plus, everyone participating will be entered into a draw to win a fantastic hamper.
  • Day Two, 12:00 PM: We are pleased to welcome Deborah Sturdy, Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care, alongside Lucy Gillespie from Skills for Care and representatives from the Social Care Nursing Advisory Council. They will reflect on the sector's progress and discuss future opportunities. Juliet Green from Skills for Care will also provide an update on Delegated Healthcare.

These are just a few of the sessions we have planned. Be sure to check out our full agenda and visit our Learning Lounge at Stand C10!
