The Future of Digital Care

Nourish Care Stand: G40
The Future of Digital Care
Digital Suppliers Have an Important Role to Play in the Future of Care
There is a range of ways that digital technology can support care providers and their communities, promoting coproduction and integration as well as time and cost savings.

The 2020’s are the era of digitisation in social care. There has been a rapid uptake of digital solutions across the sector. We have seen significant strides in a vast range of health and care types, as uptake of digital technology became more commonplace. However, there still remains a lot of uncertainty about the effectiveness and applicability of digital solutions to the intrinsically human world of care.

The attached White Papers investigate the results and potential of digital solutions in a variety of social care settings.

The Reality Of, and Potential For, Digitally Enabled Care in the Community
This King’s Fund report is focused on care in the community, and the ongoing success and potential for digital solutions to support that care. The white paper investigates the necessity of integration, with a focus on communication and interoperability. The need for digital solutions to be personalisable and inclusive in their design. It also examines the importance of staff experience, from both a funding and infrastructure level and a collaborative and accessible level. The paper closes by looking into future potential, improved outcomes and higher quality care that digital solutions can provide.

Caring in the Digital Age
Nourish Care produced this white paper to explore the realities and benefits of utilising digital solutions in social care. With examples provided by care providers Community Integrated Care, Methodist Homes, Kingsway Care, Style Acre and Kenwood Trust this piece covers a range of different care providers and a variety of applications of digital solutions to social care. It complements the wider view taken by the King’s Fund report with specific examples of digital success stories, while echoing the calls for more investment and commitment to help build a more digitally enabled and person-centred care future.
