Anita Astle MBE is the Managing Director of Wren Hall Nursing Home. She qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1984 and specialised in Burns & Plastic Surgery Nursing before leaving the NHS to manage and lead the care in her family’s Nursing Home, which is rated outstanding by CQC in all 5 areas inspected. Anita has 35 years’ experience of working in the Social Care sector. Throughout this time Anita has collaborated at a strategic level with both Health and Social Care bodies.
Anita has held positions as a Non-Executive Director for a Primary Care Trust and at a Healthcare Trust Governor. Anita has been a Board Member and Fellow for Skills for Care (SfC). She is currently a Trustee for My Homelife and Board Member for the National Care Association. More recently Anita has been appointed as the Midland’s Social Care Nursing Advisory Council Chair.
Anita is passionate about:-
- workforce development and securing meaningful career development in Social Care. To this end in the past 30 years, she has supported 96 Care Assistants to become Registered Nurses, 3 Care assistants to become Midwives, 1 Care Assistant to become a Social Worker, 1 Care Assistant to become an Assistant Practitioner and 5 Care Assistants to become Nursing Associates.
- delivery of high quality service. Wren Hall Nursing Home is rated outstanding in all 5 areas inspected by Care Quality Commission (CQC); has Platinum Status with Gold Standard Framework; Level 1 ‘Butterfly’ accreditation for exceptional person centred care for past 12 years.
